[just an example I made up] is personal and touching as a proud father exercises his bragging rights. Does it say anything about your busines though?
I frequently saw too, emails for Sarah Smith being sent to John Smith - that's confusing and unprofessional. Equally unprofessional is using a an email address with a series of numbers - meaningful to you perhap; but it's the wrong image/message.
Email addresses are free all over the net - Hotmail and GMail just to name 2 of the best known. Spend a moment to pick a name that represents you and your business. Short and sweet is better; but I know from personal experience it's not always possible.
From there you have a couple of choices.... many email services allow you to set more than one mailbox - use that option to set one up JUST FOR BUSINESS. Or go to one of the free email account services to set an email account up there.
First impressions are everything and since we use our email for marketing our business, shouldn't it have the spit and polish it deserves? You don't go to a closing in shorts and sneakers right? Why try to sell your services in a bathrobe?
